- Why Now is the Best Time to book a Hotel with Spa Over Skiing
Explore an Affordable and Relaxing Winter Getaway in the spa. Winter holidays are evolving. While skiing has long been a popular choice, rising costs and crowded resorts have made it a luxury for the few. Instead, why not consider an alternative that combines relaxation, wellness, and breathtaking views? Coastal hotels offering spas, saunas, fitness centres, and other amenities are ideal for those looking to unwind without breaking the bank. The Rising Costs of Skiing vs. Spa Retreats A day on the slopes now costs as much as a luxurious overnight stay at a 4- or 5-star hotel. Ski passes, equipment rental and lessons can quickly add to an extravagant expense. In contrast, coastal hotels often offer comprehensive winter packages that include: Accommodation with breakfast or half-board Access to indoor pools, saunas, and fitness centres Lower off-season rates with no crowds Wellness treatments tailored for ultimate relaxation W hy Winter is the Perfect Time for a Coastal Escape 1. No Summer Crowds Unlike summer, when coastal hotels are bustling, winter offers a tranquil atmosphere. Enjoy the peace and quiet of uncrowded spas, pools, and saunas. 2. Value for Money Winter packages often come with incredible discounts. For the price of a single ski pass, you can enjoy a luxurious overnight stay with breakfast and spa access. 3. Wellness Focus While skiing can be physically taxing, coastal hotels provide the perfect environment to relax and rejuvenate. Warm up in saunas, take a dip in heated pools, and indulge in spa treatments designed to melt away stress. 4. Weather That’s Just Right Winter at the coast brings crisp, refreshing air without the harshness of the mountains. Take a stroll along the beach, enjoy scenic views, and soak in the serenity. Belvedere Hotel Skiing: A Luxury for the Elite? Why a Coastal Retreat is the Smarter Choice Over the years, skiing has become increasingly exclusive, with costs climbing steeply, making it less accessible to many families and travelers. Consider this: The True Cost of a Ski Vacation Ski Passes Daily ski passes in popular European resorts can cost anywhere from €50 to €80 per adult , with children’s passes averaging €30 to €50 . For a family of four, this alone can total €200 per day . Equipment Rentals Renting skis, boots, and helmets for a family can add an additional €120 to €200 per day . Accommodation Lodging in ski resorts during peak season ranges from €150 to €400 per night for mid-tier hotels or chalets, with higher prices for premium stays. Dining Costs On-mountain dining is notoriously expensive, with lunches often costing €15–€25 per person , not to mention après-ski drinks and snacks. Adding these up, a single day on the slopes for a family of four can easily exceed €500 , making a week-long trip a significant financial commitment. The Coastal Alternative: Luxury Without the Expense By comparison, a stay at a seaside hotel offering spa and wellness facilities provides not just relaxation but incredible value: Accommodation with Wellness Amenities Stay in a 4- or 5-star hotel with access to heated indoor pools, saunas, and fitness centers for as little as €99 per person per night , with discounts often available for extended stays. All-Inclusive Packages Many hotels offer half-board options , including lavish breakfasts and themed dinners, such as Prekmurje regional cuisine, ensuring excellent meals without additional costs. Family-Friendly Pricing Children often stay at heavily discounted rates or even for free, with amenities like play areas, childcare, and family pools included. Activities and Relaxation Instead of spending on ski passes and equipment, enjoy spa treatments, tranquil beach walks, or a cozy book by the sea—all included in many packages or available at minimal additional cost. For the price of a single day of skiing, you can enjoy two nights at a coastal retreat with all the luxury and none of the stress or expense. The best time to book a Hotel is now. Why Now is the Perfect Time for a Coastal Getaway Unlike the summer months when coastal destinations are crowded and prices peak, winter brings calm and incredible deals. Enjoy the unique ambience of the seaside off-season, where wellness and relaxation take centre stage. Compare this to a bustling ski resort, and the choice becomes clear: a coastal retreat is not only more affordable but also more rejuvenating. Choose Relaxation Over Crowds. The best time to book a Hotel is now! Whether you’re looking for relaxation or a break from the chaos of everyday life, a winter spa retreat offers it all. This winter, trade the slopes for saunas and the chaos of ski resorts for the calm. By choosing a hotel with wellness facilities, you’ll enjoy a rejuvenating holiday that’s as affordable as it is luxurious. We Value Your Feedback! - Do you know what "Osmica" means?
Osmica is a special tavern where you can enjoy homemade unfiltered wine and delicious food. Osmica This tradition dates back to the time of the German Emperor Charlemagne and has survived to this day, even during the Austro-Hungarian period. The term "osmica" originates from wine cellars, where farmers could sell their wine tax-free, operated for eight days a year. Osmice were organized in a home environment, in cellars or cantinas, where the wine was stored. To signify that an "osmica" was happening, farmers would attach a bunch of ivy to the door. Today, a winemaker can organize an "osmica" twice a year for ten consecutive days. In addition to excellent wines, "osmice" also offers homemade drinks, homemade bread, snacks, stews, desserts, and sausages. The cool climate here produces crisp, aromatic wines. Primorska : The coastal region of Slovenia, where Refošk and Malvazija wines flourish. This Mediterranean-influenced region produces wines with bold flavors and a deep connection to the sea. Posavje : A lesser-known region with a rich history, producing a wide range of wines, including unique varieties such as Cviček , a light, refreshing red wine. Slovenia Orange Wine – Slowenischer Orangewein Orange wine is a fascinating wine style made from white grapes that undergo extended maceration, similar to red wine production. This results in a wine with a rich amber hue, bold flavors, and tannic structure. Slovenia is one of the leading countries producing orange wine, particularly in the Vipava Valley . If you’re looking for something unique, try Orange Pinot Gris or Zelen , which are commonly produced in Slovenia. Slovenia White Wine – Slowenischer Weißwein Slovenia’s white wines are renowned for their freshness, floral aromas, and crisp acidity. The best Slovenian white wines include Chardonnay , Sauvignon Blanc , Pinot Gris , and Malvazija . These wines pair perfectly with Slovenia’s Mediterranean cuisine, such as seafood, risotto, and fresh salads. Slovenia Red Wine – Slowenischer Rotwein Slovenia also produces exceptional red wines, most notably Refošk and Merlot . These wines are full-bodied, with deep flavors of red fruits, spices, and earthy notes. The Refošk wine from the Slovenian Istria region is particularly famous for its robust taste and aging potential. Buy Slovenia Wine – Slowenischen Wein Kaufen Slovenian wines are available in various wine shops across the country and internationally. However, the best way to experience Slovenia’s wine is by visiting the wineries themselves. Many wineries offer the opportunity to buy wine directly from their cellars, ensuring the freshest bottle and the chance to enjoy personalized recommendations from the winemakers. - Kamnik-visit an active, green, and vital alpine destination
A colourful range of tastes, homeliness, relaxation, nature, past and experiences - all this is offered to the visitor by the town of Kamnik, in the arms of the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps, near Ljubljana. You can visit it not only by car but also by train and thus conjure up an unforgettable experience for the youngest! Kamnik is a town of friendly people, a town with tradition, history and rich heritage, a town with a soul. The beautiful architectural and sacral heritage still reminds us of the time when Kamnik was the capital of the Carniola region. People like to live in Kamnik, feel and breathe with it. They want you to feel with them. That is why we invite you to take a walk together through the many riches of the town of Kamnik and its surroundings. Kamnik, a town of three castles Kamnik is considered one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Slovenia. Once a flourishing trading town, where the counts of the Andes from Bavaria had their headquarters. In those days, Kamnik was the capital of Kranjska. In the 11th century, the city hill boasted an impressive castle complex - Mali Grad. Today, only the two-story Romanesque chapel with a crypt is preserved, which is also one of the main symbols of the city. From the hill, there is a wonderful view of the town and the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps. Stari grad Is one of the oldest castles in eastern Carniola. The excellent location of the hill Stari grad and just the right visibility made it possible to control the medieval trade route that led through the city. Today, the old castle is a wonderful vantage point, popular with hikers and families, as the climb is not that difficult and takes only 30 minutes. A small hill above the town boasts Zaprica Castle, which was once the seat of an important noble family. Today, it houses the Kamnik inter-municipal museum, which also has two additional dislocated units in the city: the Miha maleš gallery and the birthplace of Rudolf Maister. Go on a hike to the highest peaks of the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps and overcome the highest altitude difference in Slovenia. When you are in this area, be sure to stop in the valley of Kamniška Bistrica, a valley with wonderful natural features, and have lunch at the stone table where even the Austrian emperor once dined. Listen to the story of countess Veronika from Mali Grad or the famous Kamnik majolicas - earthenware traditionally made in Kamnik. Admire medieval carvings along the most beautiful street in town, Šutna street , and visit local shops. Walk through the halls of the Kamnik intermunicipal museum , the birthplace of Rudolf Maister , the rich franciscan library, or discover Plečnik's heritage in the Kamnik-savinja area. Revitalize your body and strengthen your immune system in the Tunjica natural medicinal grove , the only holistic health centre in Europe with scientific evidence of healing effects on health and the body. Kamnik Soothing relaxation in the stone house and surroundings of Tuhinjska Valley Forget about stress and recharge your batteries in Kamnik, in the beautiful Tuhinjska valley, there is the highest spa in Slovenia, Terme Snovik . The offer follows the guidelines of sustainable tourism and is the first tourist provider in our area to include all five kneipp elements in its offer. In the surrounding area, you can find many themed trails, a path for barefoot walking and an herb garden. Discover kneipp in Kamnik (Terme Snovik) Among the lesser-known facts is that in the period between the 19th and 20th centuries, an incredibly famous bathing complex called the Kurhaus was in Kamnik. The complex of public swimming pools stood at the confluence of the Nevljica and kamniška Bistrica rivers and was founded by Alojz Prašnikar (1821–1899). It attracted many visitors from Trieste, Vienna and Prague and could even compete with Bled. Sebastian Kneipp himself, the inventor of Kneipp therapy, praised the bathhouse. In his approach, Sebastian Kneipp believed that the elements of water, plants, exercise, nutrition and balance are closely related and combined them into a holistic life philosophy. They are known as the "five pillars." the Kneipp philosophy is included in the offer of Terme Snovik, which is also the first local tourism provider to offer the experience of all five Kneipp elements. In the colorful world of plants Potok Arboretum Every year, at the end of April, two million tulips bloom in the Volčji Potok Arboretum. Next to them, of course, there are many other flowers that announce the arrival of the awakening spring. But not only in spring but Volčji Potok Arboretum also offers the possibility of walks in the vivid colour spectrum of plants from all over the world in all seasons. The park, which covers 85 hectares with around 3,500 species and varieties of woody plants, is considered the largest botanical garden in Slovenia and can be placed alongside the most famous botanical parks in the world. Among the shepherds on the big mountain If we head north from Kamnik, we arrive in the valley of Kamniška Bistrica, where we can enjoy the beauty of unspoilt nature and cool off in the hot summer months. Kamniška Bistrica, which attracts many walkers, mountaineers, hunters and fishermen, is also an excellent starting point for hikes to the peaks of the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps. Velika Planina is the most visited among the Kamnik peaks, which is considered the most beautiful Slovenian mountain due to its exceptional views and preserved pastoral heritage. The tradition of shepherding is presented in the only preserved oval shepherd's hut, the Preskar Maria museum, and the chapel of Maria Snežna also has a special place in the shepherd's settlement. Velika Planina is characterized by small thorn cheeses with strong love symbolism. In the summer, the mountain offers many opportunities for wonderful walks and encounters with the life of shepherds, and it is especially magical in the winter when it is covered with a blanket of white snow. You can go to the mountain by following well-marked hiking trails, and a swing and a chairlift bring visitors to the mountain every day of the year. Plan Your Visit Accessible by train or car, Kamnik is the perfect destination for families, adventurers, and history enthusiasts alike. Don’t miss the chance to experience Kamnik, Slovenia’s active, green, and vital alpine gem! Learn more: Visit Visit-Slovenia.eu for travel tips, itineraries, and exclusive insights.

- Lake Bled holidays
A tourist pearl on the edge of Triglav National Park. This paradise on Earth is swelled by green tourism, which is why the Bled is one of the places with fresh air and a healing climate. The city and its surroundings offer you many natural experiences and a really large selection of activities for families with children, adrenalin lovers and athletes. If you want to explore it all, you will have to take several days off. Because we are a free-spirited family and I want my children to have a relaxed holiday, I decided to take an amazing house with a pool from a private provider with a beautiful yard in front the house with a wonderful large green area, so kids can play on it, garden furniture, deckchairs and barbecue. Of the apartments in the house, some of them have modern furniture, and the other has slightly older furniture but it's cute. The provider also has bicycles for rent. Lake Bled holidays- accommodations and more In terms of other accommodations, hotels, apartments, glamping, holiday homes and other providers are available. Let us take a closer look at the treasures of this oasis paradise on Earth. One of them is a magical lake of a unique shape carved by a glacier. In some places it reaches a depth of up to 30 meters, it is home to 19 different types of fish, and beautiful colourful water lilies float on the surface. Access to the lake is provided by well-maintained paths and wooden jetties. In the summer you can swim in the lake, diving while in the winter, if the surface is enough frozen, you can go ice-skating. We recommend a visit in the summer or spring when nature wakes up, everything turns green and there are many flowers, ornamental shrubs and trees. In the middle of the lake is a unique natural island and you can get there by boats called platina or rent your boat and row towards the islet. You can take a walk or bike around the lake. There is a path, which is 6 kilometres long or just sitting and enjoy a view of the lake by the beautiful terrace of the hotel. On the cliff by the lake stands the fairy-tale Castle of Bled. You can access it by stairs through amazing trees on both sides or by car from the other side but the price of the parking lot is quite expensive. In general, Bled is also expensive when it comes to food in restaurants. We don't recommend visiting the top of the castle with a stroller because of the steep path. Other available activities in Bled and its surroundings are an adrenaline-filled descent with a summer sledge, zipline, river rafting, fishing and incredible panoramic flight with a balloon. Discover the charms of caves, Vintgar Gorge , and popular hiking spots of Ojstrica, Mala and Velika Osojnica or just let yourself be pampered in the thermal pools and don't forget to visit a Dinosaur Park with your kids. A Few Local Tips: Bled can be a pricier destination, particularly regarding restaurant meals. Consider self-catering in your chosen accommodation. Bled Castle's pathway to the top is quite steep, making it unsuitable for strollers. Pre-purchase tickets online for popular attractions, especially during peak season. Unforgettable Lake Bled holidays Bled is more than just a picturesque destination; it's an experience that lingers in the memory long after you depart. Whether you seek family fun, outdoor adventures, or a touch of historical charm, Bled promises an unforgettable Slovenian escape. Ready to embark on your Lake Bled holidays?
