Slavnik is the highest point of the Čičarija ridge in the hinterland above the Slovenian coast, and its summit offers one of the most expansive views in the country. On clear days you can see from Venice to the Dolomites, across the entire Istrian peninsula, and deep into the Julian Alps. The trail from Podgorje village passes through Mediterranean scrubland and karst meadows, and a mountain hut just below the summit serves local Karst cuisine year-round.
