Postojna Cave is the most visited show cave in Europe, welcoming over 700,000 visitors annually. A unique electric cave train carries visitors 3.7 km into the mountain, passing through galleries of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years. The cave is also home to the olm (Proteus anguinus), a blind amphibian endemic to Dinaric karst systems, often called the ‘human fish’.
