The small brackish lake at Fiesa, just north of Piran, is a unique coastal lake separated from the Adriatic by a narrow strip of land. While most visitors swim in the adjacent sea cove, the lake itself is a protected nature area home to rare bird species. The surrounding area offers both sea and lake swimming within metres of each other.
