Grintovec at 2558 metres is the highest peak of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and a rite of passage for Slovenian mountaineers. The standard route from Kamniška Bistrica climbs via the Kokra saddle and the Črnuška mountain hut, with the final section involving exposed scrambling on loose rock. The summit panorama reveals the entire Kamnik-Savinja chain, the Ljubljana basin far below, and on clear days the Austrian Alps to the north.
