Nanos Ridge — 12km Medium Hiking Trail in Primorska (750m Elevation)

Nanos is a long limestone plateau rising dramatically above the Vipava Valley, forming the boundary between the sub-Mediterranean and continental climate zones. The trail from Razdrto climbs through karst forest to the open ridge where the infamous Burja wind can reach speeds over 200 km/h in winter. On calm days, the views from the edge of the plateau stretch to the Adriatic Sea, the Karst plateau, and deep into the Italian Friuli plain.
