The Ljubljana Marsh nature trail crosses the Ljubljansko Barje, a vast peat bog and wetland on the southern edge of the capital. Raised boardwalks keep hikers above the soggy ground while offering views of reed beds, drainage channels, and open meadows. The area is a Natura 2000 site home to corncrakes, marsh harriers, and over 100 other bird species, making it one of the best birding spots in central Slovenia.
