Swimming in the Krka River below the medieval Žužemberk Castle is one of Dolenjskas most photogenic experiences. The river forms natural pools in this section, with water temperatures comfortable for swimming from June through September. The castle ruins towering above the river create a dramatic backdrop that feels more like a film set than a public swimming spot.
