The confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers at Tolmin Gorge is one of the most spectacular river swimming spots in Slovenia. The water is a mesmerising emerald green, cold even in summer (rarely above 15°C), and surrounded by dramatic limestone gorge walls. The Tolmin Gorges are also a major hiking attraction with a designated trail through the canyon.
